The ingredients list is pretty short so you'll hopefully have everything in your store cupboard, and will just need to buy a pack of wings from the supermarket.

Prep is quick and then the air fryer does the hard work in 30 minutes, resulting in delicious crispy and full of flavour chicken wings. Perfect party food or when watching any sports on the TV.

Tips

  • Baking powder makes the chicken skin blister and air frying makes them lovely and crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside!
  • Experiment with different spice flavours eg: fajita, jerk or taco seasoning!
  • Optional variations:
    • Extra spicy - add extra cayenne or toss in buffalo sauce.
    • Sweet and spicy - add some maple syrup.
    • Garlic parmesan version - toss in melted butter, crushed garlic and grated parmesan.
    • Lemon Cajun twist - add lemon zest and lemon pepper seasoning.
  • This easy air fryer Cajun chicken wings recipe is easily adapted if you're cooking for less or more people.

How to make these Easy Air Fryer Cajun Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 8 chicken wings (approx. 600g), wing tips removed and jointed to give 16 pieces in total
  • 2 tsp baking powder (see Tips)
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp pepper
  • 4 tsp Cajun seasoning (see Tips)
  • vegetable or sunflower oil spray

Cajun dipping sauce (optional):

  • 110g light mayonnaise (Heinz is my favourite!)
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp creamed horseradish
  • 0.25 tsp tabasco
  • a pinch of garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Put the wings into a large bowl and toss well with the baking powder, salt, pepper and Cajun seasoning until all of the wings are coated.
  2. Place the seasoned wings in the air fryer basket(s), or on racks, sprayed with oil (you may need to work in batches depending on the size of your drawer(s)).
  3. Cook at 120C for 15 minutes then turn the wings over and cook at 200C for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, if you want to serve your Cajun wings with the dipping sauce, make it now - simply mix all the ingredients together in a bowl then transfer it to a small serving dish.
  4. Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a serving bowl or plate and enjoy!
