Easy Pizza Sauce

This is an easy and delicious pizza sauce recipe that is quick to make when you get the pizza urge!

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic thinly sliced
  • 400 g (14 oz) tin of chopped tomatoes
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tbsp sugar
  • 0.5 tsp dried oregano
  • 0.5 tsp dried basil
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 0.5 tbsp chilli flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • Heat the olive oil in a sauce pan, add the sliced garlic and fry on a low heat for a couple of minutes taking care not to burn the garlic.
  • Add the tin of tomatoes, salt, sugar, oregano, basil, a few grinds of black pepper and chilli flakes (if using) and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Taste for seasoning.
  • Either use the sauce as is or if you prefer, blend it for a smoother sauce.
