Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

An easy pizza dough recipe that will work for you every time.   Perfect for kitchen ovens or outdoor pizza ovens.

David uses this dough in his Ooni pizza oven all the time and the results are always amazing. We'll be adding more pizza and garlic bread recipes as we go on but you need to know the basics first.

Have a look at our recipe for easy pizza sauce and then just add your favourite toppings!

Ingredients

  • 150ml warm water
  • 5g salt
  • 7g dried yeast
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 250g 00 flour
  • semolina flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Add the olive oil and yeast to a bowl with the warm water, the water should be around 35C if you have a thermometer and leave to sit for 5 minutes while you get everything else ready.
  2. Sieve the flour and salt into a bowl or the bowl of your food mixer if you are using one.
  3. Gradually mix the liquid with the dry ingredients until fully combined.
  4. If using a machine turn to a low to medium setting and knead for 5 minutes, if doing this by hand knead for 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  5. Grease a metal tray with olive oil and place the dough in it, cover with greased cling film and put in a warm place for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove the dough from the tray and divide into three smaller balls around 140g each and return to tray with the cling film and leave to rise until doubled in size for around an hour.
  7. After the dough has risen flatten out each ball with your hands to a rough pizza shape and top with your sauce and toppings.
