This grilled salmon tacos with chipotle lime yogurt appeared in the Summer 2022 BBC Easy Cook magazine and is on the BBC Good Food website.
I love Mexican food and fish, so this was a winner for me. It's a super quick recipe to prepare and cook and is on the table in under 30 minutes!
The rub for the salmon is lovely and smoky and is balanced perfectly with the zesty smoky yogurt, crunchy cabbage, fresh coriander and lime, and some heat from the pickled jalapeño chillies. Give it a bit of extra heat if you fancy with a shake of hot chilli sauce!

How to make this Grilled Salmon Tacos with Chipotle Lime Yogurt
Ingredients
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 2 tbsp smoked paprika
- a pinch of sugar
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 500g salmon fillet
For the chipotle lime yogurt:
- 200ml fat-free yogurt
- 1 tbsp chipotle paste or chilli sauce
- 1 lime, juiced
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
To serve:
- 8 small soft flour tortillas , warmed
- quarter of a small green cabbage , finely shredded
- a small bunch of coriander sprigs
- a few pickled jalapeno chillies
- lime wedges
- hot chilli sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Rub the garlic salt, paprika, sugar and some seasoning into the flesh of the salmon fillet. Heat grill to high.
- Mix the yogurt, chipotle paste or chilli sauce and lime juice together in a small bowl with some seasoning, and set aside. Place the salmon on a baking tray lined with kitchen foil and grill, skin side down, for 7 to 8 minutes until cooked through. Remove from the grill and carefully peel off and discard the skin.
- Flake the salmon into large chunks and serve with the warmed tortillas, chipotle lime yogurt, shredded cabbage, coriander, chillies and lime wedges. Add a shake of hot chilli sauce, if you like.
