These easy air fryer Spanish chicken wings are packed with smoky paprika, garlic and herbs, giving you bold flavour with minimal effort. Crispy on the outside and juicy inside, they're perfect for quick dinners, party snacks or a Friday night fakeaway.

I was inspired by the flavours in the roasted chicken wings with roast potatoes, oregano and garlic recipe already on Felly Bull!  You might also like to try the easy air fryer cajun chicken wings, and the easy air fryer piri piri chicken wings!

Prep time is quick and the cooking time is 30 minutes!   The end result is delicious moreish wings that are full of yummy Spanish flavour - we could easily eat the whole lot between the 2 of us.

The wings are best eaten fresh, but will keep in the fridge for 2 days and can be reheated in the air fryer for crispness.

Tips

  • Baking powder makes the chicken skin blister and air frying makes them lovely and crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside!
  • Optional variations:
    • Lemon and garlic version - replace the pimenton and chilli flakes with some lemon zest and juice.
    • Honey paprika wings - drizzle the wings with some runny honey halfway through cooking for a sticky finish.
    • Boneless chicken bites - replace the wings with large chunks of skinless boneless chicken thighs or breast.
  • This easy air fryer Spanish chicken wings recipe is easily adapted if you're cooking for less or more people.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do wings take in the air fryer?

15 minutes at 120C then 15 minutes at 200C, turning halfway through.

How do I get crispy wings in the air fryer?

Dry them well and avoid overcrowding.

What makes these wings "Spanish"?

Smoked paprika, garlic and herbs give them a Spanish-style flavour.

Can I use frozen wings?

Yes, but thawing first gives better results.

Do I need oil?

Spraying oil on the air fryer basket helps them not to stick.

What dips go well with these wings?

Garlic aioli, spicy mayo or yoghurt dips work well.
